If you are permanent resident and want to return to Canada by Airplane, boat, train or bus you must show a valid document. Incase, if you are not able to provide PR card, you can apply for Permanent residency travel document(PRTD). The following conditions must be satisfied to apply for PRTD:
- you are outside of Canada
- you don't have valid PR card with you
- you need proof of your status to return to Canada
